DIXIE IVERSON

Dixie (Nelson) Iverson, the daughter of Melvin and Dorothey (Anderson) Nelson was born October 12, 1950 in Jackson, Minnesota. Dixie passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at her home in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 62. She received her education in Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1968. On November 29, 1968 she was united in marriage to Clair Iverson in South Dakota. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Estherville. Dixie was employed in food service - where she helped start Bud's Cafe; was food service manager for Forest Ridge; manager of Dinner Date in Spirit Lake, Iowa; and was also site manager for Senior Center (Northwest Aging) in Spirit Lake. Dixie loved bowling and most important was spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church, VFW Auxiliary, Pulmonary Hypertension Association and was a past member of Estherville Women's Bowling Association. Left to cherish Dixie's memory is her husband, Clair; sons, Trace Iverson and his wife, Lesli; Jay Iverson and his wife, Amber; grandchildren, Trevor; Hailey; Hunter and Brooklyn; siblings, Cheryl Bass; Wendy Bleau and her husband, Sean; Tom Nelson; sister-in-law, Suzanne Bonnickson; special friend and sister-in-law, Nancy Iverson. Preceding Dixie in death were her parents; two brothers and one sister-in-law.
