With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Dixie Lee Shepherd, age 73, of Xenia, Ohio on July 31, 2025. Dixie was born in Jamestown, Ohio on October 25, 1951.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Betty; stepmother, Alice; and brother, Larry.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Allison); grandchildren, Kade, A’Riah, Luka, Ares and Rayne; sister, Tina; nieces and nephews, Scott (Carrie), Jeremy (Angel), and Andrea (Stefan); great-nieces and nephews, Alexa (Troy), Amara, and Evan; and best friend, Debbie Waits.
Dixie loved spending time with her friends and family. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and loved being a Grammy. Dixie believed in the importance of treating all creatures with compassion and respect. She had an affinity for animals, and fell in love with every dog she met.
Dixie possessed a warm and generous heart, always willing to lend a helping hand. Her kindness, selflessness, and loving nature will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greene County Animal Shelter in memory of Dixie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
