Dixie Lee Styczynski (Lucas), 81, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, at 6:02 p.m., surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.
Born July 22, 1943, to Dora and Mato Lucas, in Wheelright, Kentucky. Dixie lived a life filled with love, family, and devotion. She married her beloved husband Robert Styczynski on August 15, 1968, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. A devout Catholic, Dixie loved the Lord and spreading His word. She spent her life dedicated to her family and her church. Most of her career, she worked as a Driver's Education Instructor (AKA Mrs. Styz), where she enjoyed teaching her students. Dixie loved taking long rides up north, enjoyed trips to the casino, and was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers.
Dixie was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Styczynski, her sister Dorothy, her son-in-law Paul, and her grandson Tyler Jr.
She is survived by her sister Judy Arthurs and brother Steve Lucas (Ann); her children: Geri DeMars, Debby Score (Sal), Robert Styczynski (Jodi), and Eunice Nelson (Tyler). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Melanie Cyman, Carol Brockway (Daniel), Jonathan DeMars, Matthew DeMars (Cindy), Daniel Styczynski, Brandon Barr, Mitchell Styczynski (Janet), Blake Barr, Garrett Styczynski (Korrie), Autumn Barr, and Tyler Nelson. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Ashley Walsh (Bryan), Madison Cyman, Andrew Brockway, Evie Brockway, Gabriella DeMars, Abigail DeMars, Charlotte DeMars, Madeline DeMars, Maella Pellerin, Maxon Styczynski, Walton Styczynski, and Sebastian Garcia-Zamudio, as well as her great-great-grandson Levi Walsh.
Visitation will be held on July 7, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Frazer Funeral Home, located at 21001 Pontiac Trail, South Lyon, MI 48178.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, located at 440 E Washington St., Howell, MI 48843, with family visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Howell, MI, with a luncheon to follow.
