Obituary of DJ Mabry
Alan Dale Mabry, II, "DJ", age 37, of Pottstown, PA passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 surrounded by his family.
The son of Dale Mabry and the late Noreen (Caraciolo) Mabry, he was born in Norristown, PA on August 3, 1988. He was a graduate of Kennedy-Kenrick High School and Gwynedd Mercy College, where he met the love of his life, Courtney.
Though DJ spent most of his life in West Norriton, PA, he and Courtney made their home in Pottstown for the past seven years. He loved video games and Harry Potter, but he found his greatest joy in simply being with Courtney and making her laugh. Whether cheering on the Eagles and Phillies, exploring Disney parks, or relaxing on cruises, it wasn't the activity that mattered, it was sharing the moment with her. Their time together was his favorite part of life.
DJ loved the time he spent with his nieces and nephews and was a constant source of laughter. His humor was on their level and they loved him for it. On holidays, he could be found in the same chair at his sister Danielle's house, with Courtney by his side, just waiting for the moment to crack the funniest, and likely most inappropriate joke of the evening, that sent everyone into full on belly laughter.
Beyond the jokes, DJ was deeply thoughtful. He welcomed any conversation, any debate, with genuine curiosity and respectful insight. He didn't just talk-he connected. For DJ, dialogue was a joy, a way to understand and be understood. And in every exchange, he left people feeling heard, valued, and often smiling.
DJ was incredibly proud of his son Michael. He would often talk of his accomplishments in orchestra and school. His admiration was unmistakable, and his hopes for Michael's future were filled with excitement and belief. More than anything, DJ was profoundly grateful for the gift of being Michael's father-a role he cherished with all his heart.
DJ is survived by his wife of 11 years, Courtney Mabry (née Bright) of Pottstown; father, Dale Mabry (Carole Hull) of Trappe; son, Michael Pigeon; sister, Danielle (Kevin) Bell of Limerick; brother, Rob (Jenn) Stock of Roxborough; sister, Nicki (Todd) Stringer of Coatesville; sister, Julie (Zeth) Wentz of Royersford; and sister, Kimberly Mabry of King of Prussia; nieces and nephews, Brandon, Avery, Alysa, Brody, Alyssa, Abby, Allie, Hadley and Talia; as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is also survived by Courtney's family including his mother in-law, Susan Lavin; two sisters, Colleen Bright and Shannon Lavin; and brother, Patrick Lavin.
In addition to his mother Noreen, he was preceded in death by his father in law, Nicholas Bright and step father in law, Thomas Lavin.
