Dohee Chun

It is with heartbreak that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dohee Chun, who passed away on February 25, 2026. Devoted wife of Yong Chul Chun. Proud mother of Audrey (David) So, Katherine (Michael) Fiala, and Wendy (Shon) Yim. Daughter of the late Dong Soo Choi and In Sook Jo. Loving sister to Song Hyun Choi, Eun Hee Milutinovic, and Young Hee Choi. Preceded in death by her late siblings Chi Hyun Choi, Joo Hyun Choi, and Seung Hyun Choi. Grandmother of Alivia, Julia, Andrew, Lillian, Graham, Jacob, Joshua, and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Dohee will be remembered for her love of gardening, golfing, cooking, and hosting. She hosted countless gatherings in her home, for church members, alumni friends, children's pool parties, and slumber parties galore. She was proud to be Dr. Chun's wife and served the community as the office manager to Seoul Medical for 45 years. She adored her grandchildren, all of whom live in Northbrook near her home. She loved watching them grow into their individual persons and celebrating every major milestone and holiday with them. Her generosity and calm presence touched countless lives.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 4:00 PM. Celebration of Life Korean service to follow at 6:00 PM. Departure service will be held on Wednesday March 4, 2026 10:00 AM with burial service to follow. The gatherings will be held at Matz Funeral Home 410 E. Rand Road Mt. Prospect IL 60056. 847-394-2336.
