Dollie Carter McGee, daughter of the late John Carter and Mamie (Golden) Carter was born on July 10, 1960 in Marks, Mississippi and departed her life on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 65 years. She married Edward McGee in 1988.

Survivors include her husband, Edward McGee; one daughter, Edwana Leeza McGee of Cape Girardeau; one step-son, Edward (Poodie) McGee Jr.; sister Mary Jean Carter; one brother, Charles Carter, one grandson, Camichael McGee; her best friend Kathy McGhee, also, a host of family and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rhonda Carter and Ruby Gardner; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Letter to Heaven:

Mama, I miss you so much. You prepared me for everything in life but you never prepared me to live without you. My heart is broken to no understanding. I remember we had a talk about this day years ago, “You said, it is ok to cry but you have to go on with life and be strong for Michael. I will be ok! So, I sit here before you and I promise everything will be fine. Take your rest I got it from here.

Celebration of life will be conducted on March 21, 2026 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at the Delta Burial Corp, 491 1st St., Marks, MS 38646 and phone number is 662-326-2271.
