I was privileged to know Dee. She was on the Board of Trustees when I was hired at the Reed Memorial Library. Dee was a lady of dedication and insight and just a wonderful person. My condolences to her family.

"There are so many wonderful parts of Aunt Dee's character that I will always treasure. The one that impressed me most was her ability to extend mercy, even to the outcast, without ever hinting as to what it might have cost her personally. She will remain the most shining example of joy and humility in my life, and I am certain, many others who were blessed to receive of her love and kindnesses."

I have lovely memories of Aunt Dee. She was a kind, gentle soul and always incredibly welcoming. I have many fond memories of Abersold/Chechak/Garrigan/Smith reunions in Ravenna. I am sorry for your loss, but glad she is no longer in pain.

Dear Chris, Paul, Lori, Mac and Karice, Sarah, Josh, . . . Thank you so much for the wonderful collection of photos you've assembled of dear "Aunt Dee"! They confirm one of the strongest impressions she's left me with: unfailing elegance, no matter how informal or formal the occasion. Her wisdom and insight, sense of humor and dignity have been such a blessing, not just to so many, many relatives, but to the town (and township) of Ravenna, especially its schools, churches, and library. Your hard work together here has given the many lucky people assembled in these photos occasion to refresh our love and our delight in her life.
