Dolores Clark Obituary

Dolores Mae Clark, 89, DeMotte, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025.

Born on March 29, 1936, in East Chicago, Dolores was the daughter of Andrew and Catherine (White) Holzbach. She graduated from Bishop Noll High School, Class of 1954, and on April 29, 1961, married the love of her life, James Forbes Clark. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared many wonderful years before his passing on Feb. 7, 1992. Their story began in East Chicago but eventually led them to DeMotte, where Dolores made her home for more than 50 years.

Dolores was a hard worker with a heart of gold. She spent 30 years managing DeMotte's Pizza Hut, where she formed lifelong friendships and considered many of her employee's family. After retiring for exactly one week, she embarked on a new adventure at Costco, where she gained yet another cherished work family and continued working for 20 years, only stopping when her
health required her to slow down.

Dolores was known for her vibrant personality, quick wit, and endless love for family and friends. She was the life of every party, always ready to stir up laughter and fun. She loved camping, fishing, and creating memories wherever she went.

She is survived by her loving children, Bruce (Marnie) Clark, Hebron, Dena (Paul) Peterson, Marion, and Thomas (Monique) Clark, Spooner, Wis. She was a proud and loving grandma to Marissa Clark, Autumn (Matt) Schafer, Haley (Justin) Hamm, Mason Clark, Logan Clark, Ashleigh Clark, and Reagan Clark; and great-grandma to Nash Hamm and Haven Schafer. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Holzbach, along with many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Dolores was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; her beloved husband, James; her niece, Linda Jakubowicz; her nephew, Steven Holzbach; and her brother, William Holzbach.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dolores's incredible life on Nov. 29 at Jackson Funeral Home in DeMotte.

She will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Cemetery beside her beloved James.

Dolores was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know and love her.
