Dolores A. "Dody" Dunham

1934 - 2026

Mrs. Dolores A. "Dody" Dunham, age 92, of Dalton died peacefully on February 18, 2026.

Born in Pittsfield, MA on January 18, 1934, Dolores was a daughter of the late Charles and Beatrice Ferrero. She was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

She worked for GE in the Payroll department from 1952-1957. She then went on to work in the Pioneer Mill for Crane & Company from 1972-1993.

Dolores married George V. Dunham on May 1, 1954. George passed January 15, 2013.

Dolores was a longtime member of St. Agnes Church and was a proud member of their Rosary Society there. She was a talented counted cross stitcher and enjoyed making sweaters as well as knitting mittens, socks and many Irish knit sweaters. Dody and George loved to play cards with friends, especially games like Uno, Rummy and Pitch. She was a great cook and talented baker, especially her famous pies.

Mrs. Dunham is survived by three daughters, Deborah L. Dunham of Dalton, Susan M. Kelley and her husband Michael of Lanesborough, and Christine M. Dunham of Peru, six grandchildren, Justine Scherben (Tom), Garrett Gingras (Renee) and Hayley Weaver (Tyler), Noah Kelley (Juli), Jonah Kelley (Amber) and Fiona Kelley, and her great grandson Brody Scherben.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Charlotte Ferrero at age 7 and her brother Charles Ferrero.

Dody's family would like to thank the staff of both HospiceCare of the Berkshires and Hillcrest Commons for helping to keep her comfortable in her final days.

SERVICES: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 2, 2026 beginning at 11AM at St. Agnes Church. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Dunham's memory may be made payable to: HospiceCare of the Berkshires or St. Agnes Church and mailed to the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 E. Main St. Dalton, MA 01226
