Mrs. Theodore (Dolores Ann Buettner) Fischer, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025 with her family by her side.

Dolores was born April 8, 1933 in Appleton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Alma (Geenen) Buettner.

Dolores’ mom and dad started their business, Buettner’s Bakery, on September 29, 1934 in Clintonville with the latest equipment along with ovens electrically heated insuring an even temperature. The mixers and fryers were also operated electrically. During this time, Dolores stood on her step stool selling bakery items and making change at a very young age.

Dolores’ family moved to Appleton in December 1945 and with Dolores’ help, opened two businesses then, as Buettner’s Bakery and Buettner’s Buy-Low Grocery Store on East Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton, and operated for these businesses for 15 years.

Dolores attended St. Therese Catholic Grade School and then St. Mary’s Springs High School in Fond du Lac. She played piano and violin in many school recitals and competitions.

Dolores met Ted, got engaged on Valentine’s Day and married the following year on October 21, 1950 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton.

Ted and Dolores owned and operated a farm in Freedom for 10 years until they began their business of Ted C. Fischer Construction Company. Dolores was Ted’s right hand person in operating their business.

Ted and Dolores enjoyed their cottage on Shawano Lake and many winters in Florida with family and friends.

Ted preceded Dolores in death on May 28, 2015.

Dolores is survived by her children:

Two sons; Dr. Donald Fischer and (Tom Bozora) and James (Janet Phipps) Fischer.

Two Daughters: Sandy (Tim) Weihing and Nancy Forrest.

Dolores is further survived by grandchildren: Dr. Jenny (Kraig) Knorr, Michelle Diermeier, Chris (Jenny) Forrest, Laura (Brian) Gruender, Phil Forrest, Caitlin (Quin) Chrobak, Ben Fischer, Sam Forrest, Nathan (Merridee) Fischer, Joseph Fischer, Teresa Fischer and fiancé Carson Mulligan, Desiree Forrest (Shea Baksys), Michael Fischer, Thomas Fischer, and Vincent Fischer.

Dolores is further survived by great-grandchildren: Alyssa Gruender, Ian Gruender, Hannah Walter, Clare Forrest, Makelie Gruender, Reese Forrest, Cameron Knorr, Miles Gruender, Henry Forrest, Isaac Knorr, and Jax Forrest.

Dolores is further survived by a brother Richard Buettner, and sisters and brothers in law: Jerry Fischer, Mary and George Sturm, Charlene Gyrion, Helene and Glen Derks, John and Sue Fischer, Kay Fischer and Charles Fischer.

Dolores is preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Dave and Marilyn Fischer, Betty Fischer, Viola and Frank Gurnee, Dol Buettner, and Charles Gyrion.

Dolores believed in the Power of Prayer and prayed the rosary daily for her family and friends.

A funeral visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald Street, Appleton, Wisconsin, from 9:00 to 11:00 followed by a Catholic Mass at 11:00. Dolores will be placed next to Ted at Appleton Highland Memorial Park during a private burial service. The family extends a special thank you to all staff at Dimensions Assisted Living for the care given for Dolores, Dr. Scott Gyorog, MD, Senior Strides and Moments Hospice.
