Dolores Gallo

Dolores (Ricci) Gallo of Lakeland, NY, 81, passed unexpectedly on Monday August 4, 2025.
Born in Cervinara, Italy to the late Francesco and Antonietta Ricci , Dolores immigrated to the United States in 1961. In her early years Dolores was employed as a seamstress with Learbury Clothing and later she worked for the Syracuse Catholic Diocese.
Dolores was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, John Gallo Sr.
Surviving are her children, Anthony (Mary Kay) Gallo, Alvira (James) Carsten, Frances (Jim) Santoferrara, and John Jr. (Emiliegh) Gallo. Dolores had 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Dolores was also predeceased by her companion later in life Carmine Angotti.
Dolores was very active in church activities at St. Peter's where she volunteered for bingo nights, Italian festival and other events. She enjoyed the many dinner dances sponsored by the Parish. Nothing delighted Dolores more than when she became a grandmother. She loved getting together with family and being a Nonna to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all who know her and love her and enjoyed her Italian cookies.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 12th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at FARONE & SON Inc Funeral Home, 4899 W. Taft Road, Liverpool. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 13th, 9 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
