BALLSTON SPA - Dolores Elaine Gehris Greth, age 88, succumbed, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Wesley Health Care Center, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Dolores was born on April 17, 1937, in Reading, Pa., and was the daughter of the late William J. and Mildred (Renninger) Gehris.
After graduating high school, Dolores worked for the Holiday Inn Turf for 24 years, as controller and assistant manager, until her retirement in 1999. Dolores had a great love for the Inn's owners, Jack, Howard, and Mike Hoffman, as well as all members of the Turf Inn. Along the way, she met her beloved husband, Douglas, and, together, they raised two adored sons in Colonie, N.Y.
Dolores cherished the time she spent with her whole family, relatives, and friends. She was a beautiful, kind, generous, and loving wife and mother, always putting the needs of others above her own. Dolores was a great cook, and threw the best parties. She especially loved her yearly vacation in Wildwood, N.J., with the whole family.
Dolores is survived by her loving husband, Douglas C. Greth; her wonderful son, Douglas C. (Cindy) Greth, Jr.; her grandchildren, Kyle (Amy), Devin (Sean), Aaron (Reylee), Eric, and Jessica; her great-grandchildren, Rory, Levi, Mia, Gino, and Lola; her caring brother, Vernon (Peggy) Gehris; and her, nieces Stephanie and Jennifer.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death, by her son, Kevin Greth; and great-grandchild, Noah.
Services for Dolores will be held privately for the family.
Interment will be held in Laureldale Cemetery, Reading, Pa.
