Dorie was born in Hanover to the late Leo Curtis and M. Bernadette (Murren) Groft on December 23, 1931. She was a longtime parishioner at Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church and was a graduate of Delone Catholic High School Class of 1950.
Dorie was employed by Kraft Foods as a receptionist, in Newark, DE, retiring after many years of faithful service. She was a member of AARP. Dorie was a very loving and giving person and enjoyed watching Westerns on TV and the Cowboy movies.
Dorie was predeceased by her parents and her brother; James L. Groft and her sisters; Theresa Schuman and Joan M. Rudisill.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Dick A. Groft, and his wife Jean, Peggy Knox and her husband Dave, and Sylvia A. Hartzell and her husband Bing. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11:00AM at Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, 26 N. Third St., McSherrystown, PA 17344 with Rev. Richard Lyons as celebrant. Viewing will be from 10:00AM in the church until time of her Funeral Mass. Burial will follow in Annunciation B.V.M. Cemetery in McSherrystown.
