Dolores Mealey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Parkville on Mar. 3, 2026.
Dolores Mary (Przybylski) Mealey, 94, of Parkville, MD, was called home to heaven on March 01, 2026. She was the wife of the late Major John A. Mealey; loving mother of Francesca Hedrick and her late husband Terrance; Mary Allen and her husband Bones; Teresa Mealey and her partner Tim Nordbrook; Joan Mealey-Kruger and her husband Dave; John Edward Mealey and his wife Elizabeth. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren, Gabrielle Hedrick (Wade Leager); Padriac, Sara, and Niko Allen; Emilee and Alexander Lewis; Forrest Smith; Eliza Mealey; and great-daughter, Sammy-Mae Leager.

Dolores was born March 10,1931, in Plymouth, PA., to the late Frank and Mary (Siberski) Przybylski. She was preceded in death by her brother Edward Stanley and her dear sister and best friend, the late Clara L. Oracki.

A 1948 graduate of Eastern High School, she studied business at the University of Baltimore and was a US Army civilian employee where she met her late husband. A dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker, Dolores returned to the workforce in the late 1970's and retired from a career with Baltimore County in 1992.

Dolores was an extremely talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing beautiful dresses for her daughters. At Easter, she would host marathon sessions of making homemade poppy seed bread, Polish kielbasa, and chruscikis with her sister, cousins and daughters. An avid sports enthusiast, she was a big fan of Notre Dame Fighting Irish football!

Dolores and her late husband John were dedicated supporters of the Parkville Rec Council and St. Ursula CYO sports programs. While John coached his children, Dolores sold homemade baked goods, hot dogs, and sodas to raise funds to support the programs. She would always be seen cheering for her children and grandchildren at countless softball, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, ice hockey games; as well as swim meets, triathlons, dance and skating recitals.

Family and friends are invited to honor Dolores' life at St. Isaac Jogues Church at 9215 Old Harford Rd., Parkville, MD 21234, on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens.
