Dolores Messercola Obituary
GUILDERLAND - Dolores Marie Messercola, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was the daughter of the late Carl and Ruth Olsen. Dolores was the devoted wife to Gene Messercola Sr.; they were married for 65 years.
Dolores enjoyed spending time with her entire family and loved cooking for them. She cherished hosting Sunday dinners for her family and friends and cooking special meals for the holidays. Dolores will always be remembered for her Easter pies and wedding cakes.
In addition to her husband, Dolores is survived by her children, Gene Messercola Jr., David (Darren) Messercola, and Deonna (Neil) Mazzola; grandchildren, Gene III and Gabriel Messercola, and Nicholas (Michelle), Ashley, and Makenzie Grant; five great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Carol) Olsen; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her brothers, Carl (Marilyn), John (Mae), and Paul Olsen.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Monday, July 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 1, at 11 a.m. in St. Madeline Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd, Schenectady. Burial will follow the funeral Mass in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany.
The family requests that donations be made in Dolores's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.

passing -- what a super lady. She had a way about her that was always so positive and she was stunning. I encourage you and your family to cherish all the memories in your hearts every day as I have done with my Bob. God Bless you all.
