Dolores Faye Miller, 77, of Sulphur, passed away on April 11, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born to Lindsay and Anna Fontenot in Anahuac, Texas on October 28, 1947, and was a 1965 graduate of Sulphur High School. Dolores enjoyed crossword puzzles, word search and picture puzzles. Family and friends meant everything to her. Dolores was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church where she volunteered as coordinator for CCD. Dolores was also known as the “Carlyss Pork Queen” from 4-H stock show days. She loved riding around with dear friends reminiscing about how the land has changed over the years.
Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Nathan Miller; two children, Shane Miller and wife Dwana and Jeannie Kay Miller Fontenot and husband, Michael; five grandchildren, Kaylen Fontenot Aguilera and her husband, Jose’, Wacen Kane Fontenot and his wife, Shelby, Ali Adele Fontenot, Tori McDaniel and Kody Miller; five great grandchildren, William Aguilera, Holden Fontenot, Jolie McDaniel, CJ McDaniel and Emmy McDaniel; and one sister, Wilma Deshotels. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dolores will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss with Father Sibi Kunninu, M.S. officiating. Burial to follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, LA. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur from 3-9 PM with a rosary at 6 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 8 AM until time to leave for the church.
