DOLORES ORTEGA Obituary
Dolores Marie Ortega joined our Heavenly Father on Friday, September 12th, at the age of 92.
She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family.
Dolores is survived by nine children: Robert Maestas (Judy), Mimi Maestas, Tammy Ortega, Barbara Nava (Jaime), Louis F. Ortega (Judy), John Patrick Ortega, Mary Armijo, James Ortega, and David Ortega. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Emelio and Esther Gonzales; her sisters, Marcella Fordham, Esefana Marie (Fannie) Bachicha, and Helen Alarid; and her brother, Fernando (Buddy) Gonzales. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Luis P. Ortega, and her son, John Martin Ortega.
Dolores graduated from Loretto Academy in 1951. She later attended a secondary accounting school and went on to work for the State Engineer's Office, where she retired after 25 years of service.
Dolores was known for her kindness and generosity, always willing to help those in need. She embraced life fully and deeply cherished time spent with her family and friends. She had a passion for dancing and cooking for her loved ones, and she was a devoted member of her church community.
Our family was fortunate to have had the opportunity to care for our mother for four beautiful years after Dad passed away. She will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts.
