Dolores Shama Obituary
1928 ~ 2026
St. George, Utah - Dolores Smart Sharp Shama, age 97, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026. She was born on February 14, 1928, in Murray, Utah, to John Silas Sharp and Verna Josephine Smart, and was the last surviving child of her immediate family.
Dolores is survived by her daughters, Connie Jean Vernon Shama King (Donald King) and LindaLee Shama Denning (Quin Denning); grandchildren: Corey King, Cody King, Carrie King McPherson, Carly Shama, Colton Denning, Conner Denning, Jordan Denning, and Anisa Denning Leong; and great-grandchildren: Devin Shama, Tristan Shama, Kaycee King, Theodore Denning, and Lina Leong.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Farrell Ulen Vernon and Harold M. "Sam" Shama; her son, Bryan Farrell Vernon Shama, (Patti Grow); and her granddaughters, Vanessa and Bailey Shama.
Dolores lived a life of full service, love and kindness. She found great joy in being close to her family and she also cared so dearly for her beloved animals. Her deep love of Jesus Christ shaped her entire life, and she freely shared her heavenly experiences and testimony whenever she could. Her spirit will forever remain close, and she will gently continue to inspire her family with love and comfort, just as she always did on earth. She will be profoundly missed.
A graveside service celebrating Dolores's life will be held on January 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S. Vine St., Murray, Utah.
