Dolores Mae Young

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." – 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Dolores "Dee" Young was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who was born on April 15th, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio. There were three things she couldn't resist: the color purple, chatting in the church parking lot after services, and telling others about the joy she'd found in Jesus. She graduated in 1957 from Central High School and attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary. While in Ohio, she married the love of her life-her husband Jim Young-and they went on to have three children. Dolores eventually settled with Jim and their children in Pensacola, Florida where their family became members of Liberty Church in 1976, a congregation she and Jim served faithfully throughout their lives. Unwavering in her Christian faith, she set an example to all of us about the value of seeing, listening to, and loving others.

Dolores passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026. She is preceded in her heavenly home by her husband Jim Young, her mother Lillie Mae Dunlap Steinbrook and father Laurence Pearle Steinbrook, sisters Susan Comer and Virginia Montgomery, and her brother Teddy Steinbrook. Dolores is survived by her sister Phyllis Patridge, sons Timothy Young (spouse Elizabeth) and Stephen Young (spouse Laurie), her daughter Lisa Young (spouse Kelly Hart), as well as her grandchildren Ashley Clark (spouse Matthew Clark), Joshua Young, and her great-grandson Nathanael Clark.

Her legacy of faith lives on in her family, as well as the numerous people she touched through prayer and Christian witness during her life. We grieve her absence but rejoice in the assurance she has finished her race faithfully and is now rejoicing, fully healed in the presence of Jesus.
