Viewing and visitation for Dominga Pena, 76 of Lubbock will begin 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel-Lubbock with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. Prior to Funeral Mass on Sunday, November 5, 2023, visitation will begin 10:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel-Lubbock. The Funeral Mass will begin at 3:00 p.m., the same day at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles-New Deal with Father Brian Wood officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.
On the evening of Monday, October 30, 2023, Dominga Pena, went to be with the Lord. She was born on April 13, 1947, in New Deal, Texas, to her parents Louis and Leonora Ramirez. Later in life in 1966 Dominga went on to marry Raul Pena in New Deal. Her love for the family she created with Raul knew no bounds, she cherished every moment shared together with them.
Dominga dedicated many years of service as a Packer for B&B Spices, where her meticulous attention to detail made her an invaluable asset. She then went on to work for Texas Tech and New Deal ISD as a custodian. Her commitment to these institutions was an inspiration to both colleagues and students alike.
A faithful Catholic, Guadalupana and member of Our Lady of The Queen of the Apostles-New Deal parish, Dominga's spiritual strength shone brightly in all facets of her life. Her devotion to God provided a guiding light that illuminated her path.
She is preceded in death by a son Raul Pena Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband Raul Pena of Lubbock; two sons Sammy Pena and his wife Brenda of Lubbock; Sonny Pena and his wife Angela of New Deal; and a daughter Sonia Pena of New Deal; sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Dominga will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
