Domingo Avila Obituary
Domingo Avila, Jr., 61, passed away on June 3, 2025 at Las Vegas Sunrise Hospital. He was the son of Domingo Avila and Antonia Avila, born in Las Vegas, NV on June 25, 1963. Domingo lived in Moapa, NV and worked with Nicholas Huerta Landscaping. He will always be fondly remembered for his humor, kindness, selflessness, and craziness.
In reflecting on Mingo’s life, we are reminded that goodness can co-exist with struggle. It is in his and our own imperfections that help us find our humanity. Mingo, you will forever be a Son, a Brother, a Father, an Uncle, a Nephew, a Cousin and a Friend.
May you find peace in the embrace of eternity, free from the struggles that once held you back. We pray that your soul finds rest in the Lord‘s embrace of compassion and forgiveness. You may no longer walk among us, but your spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved you.
Domingo is survived by his children, Amanda, Jessica, Mickey, Shyanna, Simon; his grandchildren; his father, Domingo Avila, Sr.; his siblings, Marciana (Rudy) Rodriguez, Molly (Alejandro) Morales, and Carolina (David) Prater; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Avila, and his mother, Antonia Avila Huerta.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, 6-8:00 p.m. at the Moapa Valley, 5090 N. Moapa Valley Blvd, Logandale, NV 89021. A viewing will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Logandale Chapel, 3245 N. Moapa Valley Blvd, Logandale, NV 89021, with the Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The Interment will follow at the Logandale Cemetery. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their Guest Book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com.
