James Richard Lewis, age 21, died Saturday, January 31, 2026 at his home in Salem, Missouri. He was born March 25, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Adam Ronald and Dusty Ann Irby Lewis.
James grew up in a young boy’s dream world. He loved animals, raising coon dogs and hunting with his dad. He loved working with his dad and siblings on the family game hunting ranch, farming and raising cattle. He graduated high school in Steelville. He was always a hard worker, quick to learn and eager to do a good job. He became a master welder and a master carpenter. He was just beginning a new adventure in real estate. James will be remembered for his beautiful smile and for his heart of gold. His family’s hearts are broken at his sudden passing.
Survivors include his parents, Adam and Dusty of Salem, MO; four brothers and one sister: Clayton (Alexis) of Hollister, CA; Quinton (Kassidy) of Uvalde, TX; Payton (Megan) of Uvalde, TX; Jessica (Angel) Moya of Salem and his twin brother, Jesse of Salem; 10 nieces and nephews and his grandmother, Patricia Lewis of Moapa, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Justin.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 16, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Moapa Chapel, 1420 Barlow Avenue, Moapa, NV. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
