Domingo Vargas Obituary
Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he lived in Perth Amboy for most of his life. He was employed by the Housing Authority of Perth Amboy in the maintenance department before his retirement. Mingo had a lifelong passion for the game of tennis which he fulfilled through many friendships and as a tennis instructor for the Perth Amboy Recreation Department.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith (Lucas) Vargas, his parents, Ramona (Bauza) and Heraclio Vargas, his sons, Donald Vargas and Rodney Vargas, his sister, Milagros Pereira and his brother, Antonio Vargas.
He is survived by his son, Richard Vargas, his daughter, Debra Varela and her husband Francisco, his daughter in-law, Judy Baez, his grandchildren, Edward, Juliana, Joseph, Guy, Sherise and Christian and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Nelson Vargas and his wife Margarita, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
We will begin to leave on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 9:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home 419 Barclay Street Perth Amboy for a Funeral Mass at the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish at La Asuncion Church at 10 am. Burial will be at Alpine Cemetery.
Visiting is on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
