Dominic C. Benedetto, 96, passed on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers, after a very brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Eleanor A. (Waterman) Benedetto, who died May 24, 2012.

Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Dominic and Mary (Siciliano) Benedetto.

He served proudly in both the Army and Marines as well as employed by the Danvers Police Department as a career Police Officer. After his retirement from the force, he served in both paid and volunteer positions. Until his death, he served in many roles supporting the Veterans Administration to better the lives of his fellow soldiers and their families. Dominic was also a strong believer in blood donation and rolled up his sleeve at every opportunity. He was very patriotic and loved his country. He was a huge Red Sox fan and loved playing poker.

He is survived by his sons James and spouse Ava Galante, and Donald, as well as his daughters Catherine (Benedetto) Price and spouse Steve Price, Debra (Benedetto) Ferguson, and Donna. He has 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, as well as many in his extended family. He is predeceased by his daughter Loretta and his grandson Anthony "Tony".

Respecting his wishes, there will be no service.

If you wish to honor Dominic, you can make a modest monetary donation in his name, to Danvers Senior & Social Services at 25 Stone Street, Danvers, MA 01923. He would want you to cherish your loved ones, live fully in the present and honor those who have served this country.
