OGDEN/PRICE -With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Dominic Layne Lancaster, age 34, who was taken from us on August 19, 2025, due to a pulmonary embolism. Dominic passed away at his home in Ogden, Utah, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 6, 1991, in Price, Utah, Dominic grew up with a deep love for sports and adventure. From a young age, he excelled in hockey, playing on multiple club teams, winning a state championship with his club travel team as well as during his time at Fremont High School. His passion for the sport continued as he played for Weber State while attending college, and his fun, competitive spirit will always be remembered.

Dominic, with his younger brother Nick, spent many summers in Helper, Utah, with their grandparents. There, he discovered a love for four-wheeling and learned the importance of hard work as he helped his papa in the shop. These moments shaped him to be the most gentle, caring, and compassionate man in the lives of all who loved him.

Professionally, Dominic worked at Kodiak Produce alongside his uncle Kirk, at Smith's Distribution Center, and most recently at US Foods earning multiple Employee of the Year/Month awards during his career. He was known for his unwavering dedication and strong work ethic, earning the respect and admiration of his coworkers, who often spoke of his commitment to excellence.

Above all, Dominic was a devoted father and loving husband. He found immense joy in spending time with his wife and children. One of his favorite past times was taking his family to Lagoon where they became season pass holders. He was always creating memories for his boys, whether that was playing floor hockey in the kitchen, teaching them how to cook, or turning up the music to have a family dance party.

Those who knew Dominic remember him for his kind, compassionate nature, and his ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. He was the best dad-patient, playful, and always attentive when they needed him.

He is survived by his loving wife Amber Lancaster; boys, Huxtyn James, Nixon Dominic Lancaster who he loved more than anything in this world; parents, Randal and Janette Lancaster; brother, Nickolas (Zabrinea) Lancaster; niece, Gracie Jae Lancaster "his pretty girl"; Nunna, Annette Oliveto Callor; grandma, Ella Lou Lancaster.

Dominic is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Doc and Ileen Oliveto; his Papas, Jim Callor and Layne Lancaster.

The family will honor Dominic with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Details will be shared when available. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Dominic online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
