DOMINIC L. SCHIATTAREGGIA
Of Chevy Chase, Maryland, died peacefully at home on Saturday, November 30, 2013 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Myrna W. Schiattareggia; loving father of Joseph P. Schiattareggia (Pam), Ann S. Kern (Rocky), Sondra S. Mulheron (Ed) and Cathy S. McKaig (Mark). Cherished grandfather of Sam, Matthew, Caitlin, and Megan Schiattareggia; Sarah, Paul and Gordon Kern; Max and Kevin Mulheron; Carter, Brian, Patrick and Evelyn McKaig. Loving brother of Annette S. Pellerito. Proceeded in death by brothers Joseph and Hugo Schiattareggia and sister Annie Colletti. Family and friends will be received at Joseph Gawler's Sons, 5130 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington, DC, Wednesday, December 4 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. All are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial, Thursday, December 5, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy church in Potomac, Maryland. Burial to follow at St. Gabriel's cemetery in Potomac. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Sibley Memorial Hospital Foundaton Cancer Program, www.sibleyfoundation.org.

Dear Schiattareggia Family,
Words cannot express how saddened I was to hear of Mr. Schiatt's passing. My childhood is flooded with memories of all the wonderful times we shared together from the court get togethers, holidays, beach vacations, and your family and home being my second home. He always had a warm welcoming smile, a great laugh and truly enjoyed being among the kids and family. Thank you Mr. Schiatt for enriching my childhood. You will be missed! Al and I were heartbroken to receive this devastating news. How lucky we were to have had the "Schiatts" on our cul-de-sac for over 30 years, our families growing up together and sharing life's happiest moments! Dominic was a wonderful guy and like a brother I never had. We shared so many happy times together. He was always fun, and thoughtful and loved his family. Everyone will really miss him. My heart goes out to his family, all of his children, grandkids, and Myrna. His memory will live forever in my heart.
