Dominick Lamberti Obituary

Dominick Andrew Lamberti, of Aberdeen, NJ, affectionately known as Dom and "Big Dom," passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the age of 81 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on March 18, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY, Dom was the son of Joseph and Josephine Lamberti. He attended St. John's University in Queens and went on to build a successful career as a Sales Executive in the garment industry for over 50 years. While working in the Empire State Building, he met Susan Mussey and they recently celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Dom loved spending time at the beach, cooking, gardening, and playing tennis. Above all, he was most proud of his family, especially his three grandchildren. When his daughters were young, he devoted countless hours to coaching their softball teams, creating cherished memories and a lasting legacy of encouragement.

In his retirement, Dom's giving spirit shone through as a dedicated volunteer at Fulfill Food Bank and Lunch Break Soup Kitchen. He was recognized for his years of service, reflecting his quiet strength and big-hearted nature.

Friends and family will remember Dom for his calm yet strong presence; his Sunday tradition of cooking a huge pot of sauce while watching football-and his insistence that you take a piece of ripped-off Italian bread and give it a dunk in the pot, as if you were the only one allowed to do that; his daily walks along the beach with a signature stroll recognizable from miles away; and his joy at family gatherings, where he would often pause, look around a full table, and simply say, ' It's just nice. ' His hugs, his jitterbug dancing with Susan, his 'Dadisms' like ' It is what it is ' and ' This too shall pass,' and his warm, steady love will live forever in the hearts of those who knew him. On Christmas morning, he always put on Johnny Mathis's Winter Wonderland to let the girls know it was time to come downstairs. Some of his most cherished memories were cooking breakfast with his grandkids on the 'poop deck' at Long Beach Island, one of his favorite places along the Jersey Shore.

Dom was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Lamberti, his brother-in-law, Bob Rocco, and his in-laws, Bob and Dorothy Mussey. He is survived by his wife, Susan Lamberti (née Mussey), and his daughters: Dana Casuccio (née Lamberti) and her husband, Keith Casuccio, Nikki Lamberti and her partner, Michael Briones, and his youngest daughter, Amanda Lamberti. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Aidan, Sophia, and Christopher Casuccio, his sister, Vivian Rocco, and his sweet dog, Sadie.

A memorial visitation will be held at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a

Celebration of Life service starting promptly at 11:00 AM.

To honor Dominick's memory, the family asks that donations be made to the following

charities in lieu of flowers:

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Complete Care Bayshore for the

compassion and kindness they showed Dom in his final days.

As Dom often said, borrowing one of his favorite lines, " That's all the news that's fit to print. "
