Don M. Case, age 88, of Greenview, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Springfield Suites in Springfield, IL.

Don was born on April 18, 1937 in Taylorville, IL, the son of Elmer and Marion (Martin) Case.

Don married Marian Deckard on November 14, 1964 at the First Christian Church in Springfield, IL.

Mourning his passing are his wife, Marian; son, Jeff (Shelly) Case; granddaughter, Hannah Case; grandson, Ryan Case; great-grandson Dean; brother, Jim Case; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott; and a sister, Madelyn Case.

Don was employed for over 30 years at the State Journal Register in Springfield.

He was member Greenview Masonic Lodge, Shriners Hospital, AMVETS, and Menard County Singers Don was an active member of the Greenview United Church, including singing in the choir at the church.

Don loved to go to Mark Twain Lake and went on many walks there and many other places.

He served for the US Army.

Don did not know a stranger and loved to start a conversation with anyone.

Visitation for Don will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 11:00 AM until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Burial will be held immediately after the services at Elmwood Cemetery near Greenview.

Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
