Donald "Don" Roland Charrette, 71, of Franklin, NC, passed unexpectedly, but peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
Don was born in Biddeford, Maine to the late Raymond and Rita Robitaille Charrette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Licciardi and sister-in-law, Krystal Joaquin. He was an insurance adjuster and worked as a car salesman for Belknap Subaru in New Hampshire. Upon retiring from Belknap Subaru, he relocated to North Carolina with his wife. While in the mountains, he picked up a new past time, woodburning, which he was very talented at this hobby. He shared his unique pieces at the local flea markets. Another one of his favorite hobbies was football. His family gave him the nickname of "The Bear".
He is survived by his wife, Alethea Henderson Charrette; daughters, Tara Rapoport of Sandpoint, ID; Melanie Downes (Donald) of Alexandria, NH; grandsons, Tre Wallace of South Lake Tahoe CA, Connor and Ryder Downes of Alexandria, NH; step-children, Paul Creel, Nicole Tranter, Jeremy Creel, Tamar Creel, Jaelle Creel, Marjorie Mack; brother, Alan Charrette of Antrim, NH; sister, Carol Varnum (Robert) of West Unity, NH; and brother in law, Michael Licciardi of Chester, NH. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
A private family gathering will be held in the Spring.
