Don Farber

Don F. Farber, 85 years old, of Pillager, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family and loved ones at Lakewood Hospital, Staples, on October 10, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 11 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, Minnesota. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 4pm to 7pm at the Baxter Brenny Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Don was born in Becker Township to Ray and Magdalene Farber on January 24, 1938. He was born and raised on the family farm and graduated from Staples High School. He worked as an auto glass installer for many years with Modern Auto Glass and Harmon Auto Glass. He also worked many years at Grand Vie Lodge in the housekeeping and laundry area.

Don was married to Darlene Fornshell, the love of his life, for 45 years. They lived most of their lives in the Pillager area. Don served on the Pillager Volunteer Fire Department and the Pillager Fair Board for many years. He was a lifetime Pillager High School Huskies fan. He enjoyed many things such as fishing, hunting, playing cards, hosting card parties, gabbing on the phone, and he always enjoyed having people around. Don will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Don will be dearly missed by his daughter, Barb (Hector) Merced; son, Mark; grandchildren, Ryan, Tyrone (Sara), McKenzie (Jon), Brittnie (Kurt); great grandchildren, Payge, Isaac, Austin, Hayden, Keyonna, Arianna, Hunter, Sawyer, Kenneth, Finley, Gracelynn, and Emberlyn; and his siblings, Yvonne (Larry) Perry, Pat (Wendell) Gregg, and Mike (Michelle) Farber.

He is preceded by death by his wife, Darlene, his parents, daughter, Leann, and brothers Bill, Ken, and Roger.

Don will be entered into rest at the Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager, Minnesota.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
