Lois was born on August 11, 1928, in Duluth to Olive M. (Olson) and Harold Melvin Phillips. She grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and community that remained central throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Sander Erickson, who passed away on February 6, 2020, at the age of 101; her husband, Willard Weiler; and her stepdaughter, Mary France Weiler (1979).
Lois is lovingly survived by her brother, Donald M. Phillips; sister-in-law, Marylaine; and nephew, Christopher. She is also survived by Sander’s daughters, Jody Bjerknes (Todd) and Linda Bloomgren (Barry); her grandchildren, Kelsey Farmer, Britta Bjerknes (Steve Kawecki), Barry Bloomgren Jr., and David Bloomgren; and her great grandchildren, Jackson, Eden, and Crosby Farmer; Amelia and James Mae Kawecki; and Henrick, Owen, and Annie Bloomgren.
Lois dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured every visit and moment spent together. Family was her greatest joy.
She had a gift for baking and found comfort and creativity in sewing and knitting. Her home was often brightened by her cherished begonias and beautiful gardens. Over the years, she shared her heart with her beloved cats — Taffy, Spookie, and Glenda — who were faithful companions.
Lois enjoyed many fond memories of Lake Ossawinnamakee, as well as the treasured and beautiful trips she and Sandy took to Hawaii, and the many trips riding “Wally’s Bus”. Those travels brought her great joy and lasting memories.
A woman of strong faith and community involvement, Lois was a proud and devoted member of First Lutheran Church. She was also an active member of the Nisswa Garden Club for 25 years, the American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of Norway, and the Fleet Reserve Association Auxiliary.
Lois will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, her nurturing heart, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. Her legacy lives on in the family she so dearly loved.
