Don Douglas Galyon passed away with his family by his side, on August 26, 2025 at Holly Nursing Care Center in Holly, Colorado at the age of 89. He was born February 20, 1936 in Denison, Texas to Clyde and Rachel (Simpkins) Galyon.

Don was a truck driver, traveling millions and millions of miles for over 60 years and was a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Don and his wife, Sue lived in Springfield, Colorado for 19 years.

Don always had a passion for horses, acquiring over 40 at one point. He and his family participated in many rodeos and trail rides. In his free time, Don enjoyed dancing to Country and Western music with his wife and daughters. He was a good-hearted person who would do anything for anyone.

Carrying on his legacy is his wife, Sue of Holly, Colorado; two daughters, Stacy Sample of Edmond, Oklahoma and Robin Galyon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one son, Don D. Galyon of Bella Vista, Arkansas; stepdaughter, Lisa Cherry of Denver, Colorado; stepson, Monty Mayo of Springfield, Colorado; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ennis Galyon; and sisters, Claudine Aven and Betty Chaney; stepson, Cody Mayo; and granddaughter, Fancy Mayo.

Per Don's request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
