Donald Dean Gourd, 79, of Harrison, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.
He was born January 10, 1946, at Harrison, a son of Oren Wayne and Irma Fern Carnahan Gourd. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army. By trade he was an auto mechanic, with a special talent for working on diesel trucks. Over the years he worked for Cecil Body Shop and Millbrook Truck Shop. He was a member of Faith Assembly of God in Harrison.
On May 27, 1973, he married Vivian A. Grimes Drewry, and together they shared many years of marriage until her passing. Donald enjoyed working on cars and anything with an engine, and he also found relaxation in string art. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two daughters, Terrie Drewry and Julie Rogers; a grandson, Matthew Arellanes; and a granddaughter, Kim Beth Jackson.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kippy and Joan Drewry of Green Forest, Donnie E. Drewry of Harrison, and Calvin and Debbie Drewry of Lead Hill; a daughter and son-in-law, Georgie and Roger Patton of Diamond City; 11 grandchildren, Jodi Boyd, Kimberly Drewry, Jeremy Drewry, Lori Dawn, Jessica Drewry, Toshia Hamblin, Eli Drewry, Josh Williams, and Zack and Chris Manning; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Gourd of Buffalo, Missouri, and Gary Gourd of Kansas City, Kansas; along with other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Holt Memorial Chapel with his brother, Gary Gourd, officiating. Burial will be in York Cemetery next to his wife, at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
