Don Hayter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Coker-Mathews Funeral Home on Jun. 5, 2023.
Don Martin Hayter, Jr, 62, of Greenville, Texas passed away on June 2, 2023, after complications from the flu.
A sixth generation Greenville resident, Martin was born May 21, 1961 to Joan Cameron Hayter and Don Martin Hayter, Sr in Greenville, Texas. After Martin graduated from Greenville High School, Class '79, Martin went on to study music at California Institute of the Arts in Santa Clarita, California.
Following 13 years as a studio and touring trumpet player in Burbank, California, Martin returned to Greenville to concentrate on his wholesale company providing accessories to clothing stores. During the past 25 years Martin also kickstarted a career dealing in antiques, traveling worldwide to purchase for antique shows in Atlanta, Roundtop, and Dallas-Fort Worth. He had recently attained his Real Estate and Insurance Licenses and had planned to retire in that field.
Martin loved to go deep sea fishing and had owned a property at South Padre Island to pursue this hobby with friends. His true passion was rescuing animals and giving them a home.
Martin was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by sister Cynthia Hayter Green and husband Kevin, sister Nancy Hayter Bogart, nieces Rebecca, Jenna, Elizabeth, and Caroline, nephews John, Robert, and Ben, grandnieces Lucy, Mary Lyle, and Evie, and grandnephews Cameron, Parker, and Ford.
A Memorial Service will be held at Kavanaugh United Methodist Church in Greenville, Texas on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 11am. Pastor Ben Shinn will be presiding. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
