Don Lee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Iles Grandview Park Chapel on Mar. 10, 2026.
Don Francis Lee, 69, passed away on March 7, 2026 at his home in Des Moines, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m.- 12:30 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Iles Grandview Park Chapel in Des Moines.

Don was born in Waterloo, Iowa on October 13, 1956, to Herbert and Marilyn (Reick) Lee. He started his career as a long-haul truck driver, where he was able to travel the country. He eventually decided to change careers, and earned his AS Degree from St. Cloud Tech. Don enjoyed working with computers, and he put these skills to work in a career in technical support. He worked with Ruan, Mercy Hospital, and most recently ESO, where he retired in 2023.

When he wasn't working, Don loved being around his family, especially his sons. He was never one to shy away from a good Dad Joke. Don also enjoyed travelling, especially out west. He loved seeing the Rocky Mountains. He also enjoyed the thrill of skydiving, making over 400 jumps in his lifetime. Don was also a gifted writer and even had his own blog. He will be remembered for his love of Pepsi.

Don is survived by his sons, Nathan (Stephanie Molina) Lee and Treygan Lee; daughter, Anna Lustig; grandson, Bobby Lustig; and his siblings: Denise (Denny) Woock, Dana (Jane) Lee, and Becky (Tom) Barr; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Lee; and his sister in-law Carol Lee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Don's sons.
