"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints" - Psalm 116:15

Lifelong resident of Tippah County, Don Reed Martindale, age 80, departed this earthly life on Sunday November 30, 2025, in the comfort of his home.

Per his request a private graveside service will be held in the Blue Mountain Pentecostal Church Cemetery. The family deeply appreciates every prayer during this difficult time and asks that you continue to cherish and reflect on the memories shared with such a wonderful man.

Born on November 11, 1945, at home in Tippah County, Mr. Don was the son of the late Charlie and Annie Reed Martindale. Growing up he was a member of Falkner Baptist Church, before later becoming a faithful member of Blue Mountain Pentecostal Church, where he served on the church board, served as a Sunday school teacher for many years, and taught home Bible studies.

He graduated from Falkner High School in 1963 and from Mississippi State University in 1969, where he obtained a degree in Industrial Engineering. He worked for Dover Elevator Company for many years, and later worked with Tiffin Motor Homes, delivering motorhomes all over the United States.

Those left to cherish memories include his wife of 58 years, Linda Thompson Martindale of Ripley, his son, John Martindale and wife, Monica, of Ripley, his daughter, Donna Taylor and husband, Kevin, of Saltillo, granddaughters, Ava Martindale and Kylie Meeks and husband, Ethan, both of Ripley, nephews, Dan Harrell and his wife, Betty, of Ripley, Stephen Harrell, and his wife, Ginger, of Macedonia, and Toby Thompson, of Baldwyn, a niece, Pam Lancaster and her husband, Randy, of Ripley, sister in law, Lana Thompson, of Baldwyn, two very special cousins, Rita Braddock, and her husband, Andy, and Mack McElwain and his wife, Jane, both of Ripley, and one great grandson, Judd Meeks.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Norma Harrell, two brother in laws, Willie Harrell and Doyle Thompson, and one granddaughter, Macy Brooke Martindale.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to a charity of choice in honor of Mr. Don.
