Billy Don McConathy, 94, passed peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He lived a full and faithful life devoted to God, country, and family. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Clearfork Baptist Church in Hawley with Pastor Wes Terry officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Don proudly served in the Oklahoma National Guard and later in the U.S. Army, fighting on the front lines during the Korean War until the ceasefire was declared. Following his military service, he worked for 40 years as a diesel mechanic with Darr Equipment. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and was known for creating beautiful custom pieces.

He used his gifts and talents to serve the Lord-both in his church and on the mission field. Don had a heart for people; he loved everyone, and everyone loved him in return.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Marshall and Elvie Irene McConathy; brothers, Marshall McConathy and Kenneth McConathy; sister, Margaret Ann; and great-granddaughter, Nora Catherine McConathy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Pauletta McConathy; daughter, Patti Burrow and husband Vance; and son, Jim McConathy and wife Elnara. His legacy continues through six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and another great-great-grandbaby on the way.

Grandchildren include Wendi Rice and husband Brian of Hawley; Kristi Ammons and husband Jon of Abilene; Jesse McConathy and wife Lynn of Prosper; Jeremy McConathy and wife Tiffany of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Christina "Nikki" Burrow and fiancé Jonathan of Abilene; and Emma McConathy of Lake Dallas.

Great-grandchildren include Kaylee Jones and husband Saxon; Avarie Rice; Brazos Rice; Easton Rice; Kara Ammons; Josie Ammons; Oliver McConathy; Ian McConathy; Zane McConathy; Chaizley Burnham; and Aria Jenkin. Great-great-grandchildren include Mollee Jones and baby Jones, expected in May.

He is also survived by sisters-in-law Nell McConathy and Yoshi McConathy, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Don leaves behind a legacy of service, generosity, faith, and laughter. Everyone blessed to know him is better for it.

Don you will be missed. I loved us picking on each other over here at University Place. You and Pauletta were meant for each other. I loved picking at you when you went or came back from Bluegrass. You will be sorely missed my brother in the Lord. May God bless your family abundantly in Jesus' name amen as broken hearts are being healed and restored. Thank you Don.
