Donald Glen McDonald, P. Eng.
(1933 - 2023)
With great sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Donald "Smed" Glen McDonald, on June 28, 2023, shortly after his 90 birthday. With his passing, he rejoins his beautiful wife Marilyn (2021) and parents William (1950) and Gladys (nee Griffith, 1977) McDonald. Dearly loved father of Susan (Dave) DiMillo of Arnprior, Steven (Lisa) McDonald of Kingston and Sheryl (Jim) Flowers of Arnprior. Proud and loving GPa of Stuart (Shanna), Daniel (Shayna Gardiner) and Eric DiMillo, and Quinn (Carla Robitaille) & Austin Grainger. Adoring GGPa of Beau & Joël Grainger, Ethan DiMillo and Cora DiMillo. Dear brother of Helen (late Ken) Macdonald of Ottawa and brother-in-law of Anthony (Theresa) St. Dennis of Almonte. Donald will be warmly remembered by his family, friends and past & present neighbours for his: incredibly good nature; fondness in gaining information through chats; and, life that he so enjoyed with all throughout his many years.
The family extends their appreciation to the team at the Arnprior Hospital for the respectful services, care, and compassion throughout his stay. While Don was the consummate, never quit gardener, if desired, donations to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation or Grace-St Andrew's United Church in Arnprior would be welcomed in lieu of flowers.
Donald's final care and arrangements are entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday afternoon, July 18 from 1:30 – 3:00. A service in the chapel will follow beginning at 3:30. Those who wish, can join us via the Live Webcast Tribute. A family interment will take place at a later date.
