Don Hugo Minshew

Don Hugo Minshew, 74, husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, June 13, 2025. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Charter Funeral Home in Calera, AL. Service will begin at 12:00 with graveside immediately following at Old Shelby Cemetery.
Don was born March 28, 1951 In Birmingham, AL. Don earned a living as a Draftsman in the coal industry. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed raising horses, fishing and hunting to name a few. He enjoyed many hobbies and learning new things including bee keeping, gardening, coin collecting, cooking and more. He was an avid Alabama Football fan. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed time with his wife, two sons and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Don was preceded in Death by his parents, Bill and Louise Minshew. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Connie Minshew; his sons, Donald and Tommy (Alyssa); grandchildren, Drake, Brielle, John William, Jonathanand Everette. As well as his sister, Ann Booth (Wayne); and brother, Pat Minshew.
