Mr. Don Thomas Whitehead

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Don Thomas Whitehead, age 73, of Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025. Mr. Whitehead was born in Jefferson, Georgia, a son to the late George Thomas Whitehead and the late Geraldine Edna Carroll Whithead. Mr. Whitehead was an automobile mechanic, who owned and operated service stations in Jefferson, and also worked at the U.S. Post Office in Athens. He loved cars and raced them on area dirt tracks over the years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitehead was preceded in death by his sisters, Diane Williamson and Barbara Hall.

Survivors include his children, Janice Rhodes and her husband Michael of Chicago, Ill, Todd Whitehead and his wife Stephanie of Commerce, GA and Jason Whitehead of Maysville, GA; grandchildren, Sofia and Chris, Aedan Rhodes, Noa Rhodes, Ezra Rhodes, Liam Rhodes, Havannah Whitehead, Haze Whitehead; two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Eric Shelton officiating. The burial will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery, in Jefferson, Georgia.

The visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home.
