Don Wigley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Oct. 3, 2025.
Don Michael Wigley Jr was born to Mike and Janie Wigley on May 9, 1987- just in time for Mother's Day. Michael had the privilege of playing football under Christian Heritage Academy's football coach, John Merrell. Michael graduated in 2006 from CHA. He went on to get a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 2015 from Pensacola Christian College. Michael was incredibly smart and enjoyed working on airplanes at Boeing Co and spaceships at Sierra Nevada Corp.
But Michael's passion for life was found in his faith, music, and his family.
Michael professed faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at an early age. He was baptized at First Southern Baptist Church and spent many years as a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. Michael spent hours pouring over God's Word each day. He especially loved the beautifully translated King James Version.
Michael was a gifted pianist. His love for the piano was instilled in him by his Mimi, Nona Holley. He enjoyed composing music and was always looking for creative ways to play. He even learned to play proficiently with his feet!
Michael loved his family. He was a wonderful son, beloved brother, and cherished uncle. Michael delighted in his nieces and nephews and always looked forward to time spent with them. Michael was dearly loved by his entire family, especially by his mother.
Michael passed away September 24,2025. He was 38 years old. His family grieves, but not without hope, knowing 1 Peter 4:19- "Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator." (KJV)
Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents Clayton and Nona Holley and Don and Shirley Wigley as well as his uncle's Bob Holley and Tim Wigley. Michael is survived by his dearest mother Janie Reed and husband George Reed, his loving father Mike Wigley and wife Rose Wigley, sisters and their husbands Holly and Kyle Smith, Leah and Daniel Starling, and Paige and Sam Stroud, 13 nieces and nephews Hudson, Lincoln, Afton, and Luke Smith, Weston and Archer Starling, Cooper, Trent, Laelle, Abel, Paxton, Kody Cooper, and Charis Stroud, Uncle and Aunts- Beth Wigley and Sue and Ray Sackett, and Great Uncle and Aunts Doug and Debbie Morgan and Sunny Stiner, with countless cousins and friends.
To honor Michael's memory, please consider contributions to Sunnyside Baptist Church located at 1139 SW 48th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73109.

To the family of Michael, I was so sad to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Praying for the peace that only He can give during a time like this.

Just last week Lacie and I were telling our kids about the card tricks you were doing while on the bus in Boston for our senior trip. Rest easy my friend.
