Don Elwood Zeigler, age 72, of Belding, passed away Corewell Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, on Saturday, September14, 2024, following a long illness. He was born on June 19, 1952, in Greenville, Michigan, the son of Robert Elwood and Betty Jane (Fisk) Zeigler, both of whom preceded him in death. Don graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1971 and worked on the family farm with his brother for a number of years. He then worked for nearly 20 years as a cook at the Laurels of Kent Nursing Home in Lowell, from which he retired several years ago. He also enjoyed cooking at home and would prepare food and baked goods to deliver to places he frequented, like church and the gas station. At Christmas time he would deliver lots of goodies to family and friends. He was a devoted member of Beth Haven Baptist Church for many years and will be dearly missed by his church family and friends.
Don leaves his dear family to mourn his passing as well, including his wife Annette Zeigler of Belding, his children, Betty M. Liddy of Lakeview, Lee E. Zeigler of Belding and RuthAnn (Justin) Coles of Belding; grandchildren Austyn Thacker, Mikayla (Danny) Hansen, Noah Zeigler, Daysha Coles, Joseph Coles and Karter Coles; 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Dan Zeigler of Belding and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will take place at Beth Haven Baptist Church, 1158 W. Carson City Road, Sheridan, Michigan 48881, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024, with Pastor Kevin Crowell officiating. The family will greet visitors at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. and a luncheon will follow the service. Memorial donations are recommended to Beth Haven Baptist Church.
