Donald Aaron Obituary

Donald "Don" Aaron
October 7, 1952 - September 23, 2021
Wichita, Kansas - Don, age 68 passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 23, 2021 with no apparent health issues. His death came as complete shock to his family and many friends. Don was born on October 7, 1952 to Kathleen and Tom Aaron, the youngest of seven children. Don graduated from Bishop Carroll High School in 1970 and enjoyed life- long friendships with many of his classmates.
After moving to Concordia and working for a pest control company for several years, Don decided to return to Wichita and form his own pest control business (Pest Free Pest Control). He operated his business for more than 35 years and was proud to have his sons work with him and continue his passion for service. His customers will tell you that he had a magnetic, engaging personality. He was proud of the personal relationships he developed with his customers and took pleasure in the fact that he was often provided with a "honey do" list when he arrived for appointments. It was clear to all who knew him that he was passionate about his business and loved his customers.
His family was his proudest achievement. Don married Terri Clayton and son Jason Lee was born in 1976. His second wife and best friend, Wendy were married for 38 years, bearing two children, Don, Jr. ("D") and Hattie ("H"). Jason was the first to follow his father into the pest control business and D also followed in his dad's footsteps. The close-knit relationships he had with his family gave him joy every day.
He enjoyed golf and followed the Shockers, Royals and Chiefs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jeanette Goodrich. He is survived by his wife, Wendy; son, Jason (Sarah); grandson, Zak; son, Donnie (Lauren); daughter, Hattie (Caitlin); and his siblings, Jerry (Jan) Aaron, Marilee (Dennis) Harper, Patty Hainline, Mike (Angela) Aaron, and Steve (Rob) Aaron.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Wednesday September 29, 2021, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3800 E. Douglas, Wichita, Kansas. Interment following at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, 67219.
May Don rest in peace.
