Donald Gene Ayers, 65, passed away on February 17, 2026.

Born on March 1, 1960, in Harrogate, Tennessee, Donald was a man defined by hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was not one to seek attention or praise. Instead, he showed his love through sacrifice, long days, and a steady presence that his family could always rely on.

Donald was a hard worker in every sense of the word. He believed in providing, protecting, and putting his family before himself every single day. He carried responsibilities without complaint and met life's challenges with determination and grit. Though he was a quiet man, his actions spoke loudly. His love was constant, dependable, and deeply rooted.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn, his parents, Leslie and Peggy, and his brother, Leslie. The love and lessons shared with them shaped the man he became, and we find comfort in knowing he is reunited with them.

He leaves behind a family who will forever carry his legacy: his children, Rodney, Donleonard, Maghan, and Tyler and his wife, Hailey; his cherished grandchildren, Emma Nicole, River Lee, and Raven Ella, who brought him immense pride and joy; his sister, Tonya Colman, and her husband, Andrew; his brother, Keith, and his wife, Mamie; and his nephews, Gene, Jerry, Jacob, and Aaron. He also leaves his beloved dog, Mishka, a faithful companion who was always by his side.

He is also survived by many other beloved relatives and extended family members who will continue to honor his memory.

Donald's life was not measured in words, but in work, sacrifice, and love. The lessons he taught about responsibility, loyalty, and putting family first will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

Friends may call on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the O. R. WOODYARD COMPANY CHAPEL 1346 S. High Street from 12 until 3 pm.
