DONALD BLALACK Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alternatives Cremation and Funeral Service - Oklahoma City on Aug. 15, 2025.
Donald Richard Blalack, 71, of Bethany, Oklahoma passed away on August 13th, 2025.

Don was born on April 7th, 1954 in Olton, TX to Jonnie Buxton and Elmer Blalack. He grew up in Oklahoma City, OK and he had three brothers and one sister and was the youngest of the children.

Don was known for his kind heart and willingness to help others. His love of truck driving was most prominent throughout his life spanning over 40 years, and he took great pride in earning his license to become a CDL instructor, helping others learn to drive semi-trucks. He was quickly recognized by his company for his excellence in this role.

He always made sure to wake up early enough in the mornings before his work shift to ensure his pot of coffee was made and that he had time to grab his daily donuts.

He was hard-working and enjoyed fixing things, he was quite the handyman and knew how to "rig" things up.

He was beloved for telling jokes and making his grandkids laugh. Telling stories and talking to anyone who would listen. Everyone who met him, would quickly become a friend.

He enjoyed watching his favorite tv shows: WWF, Cops, Monster Jam, Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Duck Dynasty. He enjoyed listening to old country music. He loved all things chocolate, if there was chocolate anything - he would be happy. He loved eating fried potatoes, and beans. He enjoyed spending time with his family - most of all his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Don is survived by His wife Patricia, and their 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jonnie. His father, Elmer. His 3 brothers: John, James, Kenneth, and his sister Imogene.

A celebration of life will be held on September 6th, 2025 at 3-5 PM at The Rock - 12440 S Pennsylvania Oklahoma City, OK 73170
