Donald Blumenauer Obituary
He is survived by his 5 children: Dale Blumenauer (Linda) of Boonsboro, MD, Donna Blumenauer of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sandy Grimes (Patrick) of Hagerstown, MD, Alan Blumenauer (Cathy) of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Mark Blumenauer (Anna) of Middletown, MD. He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren: Chris Main (Nyssa), Michael Blumenauer (David), Jessica Blumenauer (James), and Kristen Wheeler (Blake), and 7 Great Grandchildren: Sophie and Gavin Main, Kolten Coleman, Dyna and Waylyn Creek, and Cohen and Cameron Wheeler.
He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Blumenauer, granddaughter, Kasey Grimes, brothers Jim and Leonard Blumenauer and sister Edith Remsburg.
Donald worked at C&P Telephone Company for 34 years prior to retiring to spend time with the love of his life, wife Betty, traveling and cruising with family and friends, as well as playing golf with his buddies. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and Cuban Crisis and The National Guard. He was a member of the Frederick Elks Club, the American Legion and Middletown Amvets.
Donald will be truly missed and remembered by family and friends for his ongoing humor and jokes.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 1:30pm at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD. Inurnment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The family is accepting flowers or donations may be made in Donald's name to Washington County Hospice, 1710 Underpass Way, Suite 300, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
