Donald Leo Carlock, age 83, was born on May 9, 1942, in Long Beach, California to Loren and Maxine (Lansbury) Carlock. He lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family and community. Don passed peacefully from this life into everlasting rest on August 7, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan.

Don met and then married the love of his life, Sharon Klungle. They exchanged their wedding vows on November 28, 1964, in Flint at St. Matthews Catholic Church. The Lord gave them 60 years together, and truly blessed their marriage.

Don spent 37 years as a respected field sales leader for Horace-Mann Insurance Company in Flint and Lansing, a role that exemplified his unwavering commitment to excellence and customer care. A proud member of the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964, he served honorably, further highlighting his dedication to service.

Education was important to Don; he graduated high school in 1960 and went on to earn his associate's degree, laying a foundation that would support both his career and personal development. His commitment to learning continued throughout his life, serving as an inspiration to those around him.

Don was an active member of the Catholic Community of St. Jude in DeWitt, where his faith was a cornerstone of his life. He had a remarkable gift for remembering people's names and truly listening, offering sound advice to anyone in need. His loyalty and commitment to relationships reflected a deep appreciation for the bonds he formed with others.

Outside of work and faith, Don cultivated a love for the game of golf and spent his retirement years driving a bus for Dean Transportation. He also dedicated time to coaching children’s sports teams, where he shared his passion for teamwork and sportsmanship, leaving an indelible mark on young lives.

Above all, Don was immensely proud of his family and their accomplishments in life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon; his son, Don Carlock; his son, John (Marcia) Carlock; and his daughter, Nancy Williams. Don was a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren: Macey Carlock, Brady Carlock, Trey Carlock, Jonathon Carlock, Andrew Carlock, Alayna Carlock, Alison (Caleb) Woods, and Joshua Williams.

He joins in eternal rest his parents, Loren and Maxine Carlock; his brother, John Carlock; and his in-laws, Leonard and Ida May Klungle.

Donald Leo Carlock will be remembered for his unwavering faith, deep love for family, and lasting impact on the many lives he touched throughout his journey. He leaves behind a legacy of commitment, compassion, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
