Donald Gene Carmichael, 85, of Point, Texas, passed away on October 18, 2023. The funeral
service will be Monday, October 23, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Point at 10:00 A.M. with interment
at Lone Star Cemetery with Bro. Calvin Durham and Bro. Roy Beaird presiding. Visitation will be
Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.

He was born on June 19, 1938, in Flower Grove, Texas to Henry Doris Carmichael and Merle
Imogene Mitchell. Don married Betty Sue Lynch on April 22, 1960, at Key Baptist Church in Lamesa,
Texas. They enjoyed a fruitful life for 63 years. A true cowboy and beloved man, Don had a deep
passion for cattle and farming, dedicated his life to this noble profession. He worked tirelessly in various
jobs to make a living that would enable him to pursue his true love of ranching. Don's commitment and
love for the land were evident to all who knew him.

In addition to his ranching pursuits, He showed cows and lambs. His expertise in this field earned
him respect from family, farmers, and peers, which were deeply encouraged to show as well.

Outside of his agricultural endeavors, Don possessed an interesting array of hobbies and interests.
His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren held a special place in his heart. Don loved
watching their sports events and took great pride in correcting the officials at every game. He cherished
every moment spent with them and celebrated their achievements with unwavering support.

Don had an incredible connection with animals and was often thought to be Dr. Dolittle, due to
his uncanny ability to understand and communicate with them. His relationship with animals brought him
immense joy and provided solace in times of difficulty.

A man of few words, Don always made his love known through actions. When he said "I love
you," it was meant to last for eternity. You knew if you were part of his world.

Don's sense of humor was another endearing quality that endeared him to friends and family
alike. His quick wit could lighten any moment and bring laughter into the lives of those around him.

Don was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Point alongside his beloved wife Betty
Sue. Their commitment to their faith strengthened their bond as a couple and served as a guiding light
throughout their lives.

Don will be deeply missed by his loved ones, who will forever cherish the memories they shared
with him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, and a deep-rooted love for family, ranching, and faith.
Don is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Carmichael; daughters, Dodie Tidwell and husband Randy, and
Donnise Carmichael; grandchildren, Alisha Romero and husband Brian, LaCresha Dale and husband
Whit, and Melisa Tidwell; great-grandchildren, Kade Romero, Cash Gene Dale and Luke Dale; and
