Donald C. Cedrone
7/25/37 - 8/8/25

Donald Carmine Cedrone, 88, of Rockland Massachusetts, passed away on August 8, 2025.

Donald (Don, Donnie or Papa to some) was born in his home on East Sixth Street in South Boston, later moving to Dorchester where he grew up. After attending Boston English and South Boston High Schools, he went into the military. In 1954, Don joined the US Army during the Korean conflict in "peacetime" during the cease fire. In 1955, he
graduated from parachute jump school with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, serving with the 504th Infantry. In 1956, he transferred to the 11th Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, serving with the 188th Infantry Regiment. He was later stationed in Augsburg, Germany until being honorably discharged in 1959 as a specialist 4th class. While serving with these two "airborne" divisions, he made 66 parachute jumps. Don was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

His hobbies throughout his years included high school and sandlot sports, racquetball, fitness, golf, and running marathons, including the Boston Marathon and New York Marathon's multiple times. His work history was mostly retail, at the corporate level, with over 30 years of management experience at the Director and VP levels. During the 1970s, he was President and co-owner of three athletic footwear stores, Superfoot.

Don was predeceased by his wife, Eunice, of 50 years. He is survived by his children, Donald (Chris) Cedrone of Mooresville, NC, the late Lynn Cedrone of Bridgewater, MA, Anthony (Tony) Cedrone of St. Augustine, FL, Jeffrey Cedrone and his wife Laura of Rockland, MA, his brother James (Jimmy) Cedrone and his wife Kathy Haskins-Cedrone of Wareham, MA. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, Julian, Ariana, Chelsea, Erik, Shelby, Theo, Jessica, Gianni, Maddie, Nick, and the late
Gino, in addition to five great. grandchildren,Brooklyn, Alli, Jackson, Lovelynn, and Gemma.

Papa's lasting legacy will always be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved each of them deeply and spoke of them often. Nothing brought a bigger smile to Papa's face than a quick conversation or even a simple text message just checking in. Those little moments meant the world to him. He was always eager to share their achievements and milestones with others, beaming with pride every time. He was, without a doubt, one proud Papa.
