Donald Cestari Obituary
Donald D. Cestari, 66, of Panama City, FL (formerly of Ansonia), beloved husband of Nancy Robert Cestari, passed away peacefully at Waterbury Hospital on May 10, 2022. Born in Derby on August 27, 1955, Donald was the son of Eva Dauer Cestari of West Haven, and the late Ralph F. and Nancy Cirillo Cestari.
Donald was a graduate of Eli Whitney Technical High School and worked as a blade inspector for Sikorsky Aircraft of Stratford for 34 years. He resided in Ansonia, CT, until retiring to Panama City, FL in 2013. He was an avid movie buff and comic book collector.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, he is survived by sons, Kevin (Toni) Cestari of Naugatuck and Steven (Serena) Cestari of Oakville; grandchildren, Nadia Cestari and Kevin Cestari Jr. of Naugatuck and Lukas Cestari of Oakville; siblings, Ralph L. Cestari, Maria (David) Nicolelli and Leanne (Robert) Ajanaku, all of West Haven, Paul (Sophie) Cestari of Branford, and Christina (David) Wagner of Scottsdale, AZ; as well as many extended family members and friends. Mr. Cestari was predeceased by a son, Joseph Cestari.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM in Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Dr., Ansonia. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. A memorial service in Florida will be announced at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com
